This museum of art and popular traditions is located in the former 17C convent of the Visitation de Ste-Marie-d'en-Haut (the superb chapel of which is a gem of Baroque art), perched on a hillside in a beautiful setting. It showcases rich collections of household furniture and traditional tools, characteristic of rural life in the Alps. The History of Skiing is also charted and illustrates the huge impact of winter sports on daily life in the mountains.
