The Goumois Corniche is a wonderfully picturesque road that clings to the hillside on the left face of the Vallée du Doubs. Over the course of a 3km circuit, you can peer down into the gorges from some hundred metres above, with the best viewpoints marked by guardrails. The steep slopes are wooded or rocky, the gentler inclines being carpeted with prairies. The spot exudes serenity and splendour. On the other side of the Doubs are Switzerland's Franches-Montagnes.
