The early 20C buildings around Götaplatsen have made this square the cultural centre of Gothenburg. Here, you will find the Stadsteatern, with its programme of plays and comedies, and the Konserthuset, home to the country's national orchestra, the Gothenburg Symphony. In the middle of the square, the Poseidon fountain, a work by Carl Milles, symbolises the city's maritime heritage.
