This Centre for Architecture and Design is the result of a transformation of the former offices of the Glasgow Herald designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. It shows a permanent, multimedia exhibition on the work of Mackintosh, together with furnishings and the plans of 21 edifices he built and others that were never constructed. The edifice itself is more than worth the effort, particularly if you climb to the top of the tower up a superb 135-step spiral staircase, for its fine views of the town.
