The west chancel with three sections, inspired by that of Aachen, is the oldest part of this cathedral (10C). The church, which is built over an Ottonian crypt, is a Gothic hall church dating from the 13C. Don't miss the Golden Virgin, a masterpiece dating from 980 which is said to be the oldest statue in the West. The cathedral's treasury with its four processional crosses (10C-11C) is also worthy of note.
