This national park extends across 692km² of moorland on the boundary between North Devon and Somerset, providing sanctuary to sheep and wild ponies. Blue moor grass, bracken and heather ripple across the ridges of Brendon Hills as far as the eye can see, while to the north lies the former royal forest of Exmoor. The rugged coastline overlooking the Bristol Channel can be seen from the towns of Lynton and Lynmouth. Dunster, the villages of Dulverton, Winsford and Porlock and the Tarr Steps bridge are all well worth a visit. The superb view from Dunkery Beacon is also a must.
