The MAEC presents four floors of the town's history, from the Bronze Age to the present day. The most important collections concern the Etruscan era and remind us that Cortona was one of the richest city-states in Etruria; but the museum also has an interesting display of Egyptian artefacts, and major paintings and ceramics from the 14C-18C.
