The small diocesan museum's valuable collection is housed in the Chiesa del Gesù, built in 1505 opposite the cathedral. Fra Angelico, who spent ten years of his life painting in Cortona, is represented by two of his best works: a superb Annunciation, and a Madonna surrounded by Saints, which is remarkable for the tenderness of Mary's features. A number of impressive paintings from the Sienese School (Duccio, Pietro Lorenzeti, Sassetta) are also on display, as is a collection of works by Luca Signorelli.
