The largest archaeological museum in Andalucia is housed in the exceptional Renaissance Palacio de los Páez, designed by Hernán Ruiz in the 16C. Due to its poor state of repair, the palace is currently closed for restoration and for the expansion of the museum. While work is ongoing, a temporary exhibition, "Córdoba, a cultural crossroads", will present some of the key exhibits from the museum's collections from prehistory onwards.
