This 12C fortress, remodelled in the Flamboyant Gothic style at the end of the 15C, once controlled the road from Dijon to Autun. The edifice, still guarded by thick walls, massive towers and a drawbridge, has retained fine features from its past, among them the guests' quarters fitted with basket-handled openings, the Grand Logis (main living quarters) with its imposing Guardsroom and the chapel (1481) decorated with superb paintings. From the upper-floor bedrooms, laid out in the 17C and 18C, there is a fine view of the foothills of the Morvan and of the Burgundy Canal.
