Built on the site of a Gallic oppidum, on a former defensive castle, the Calvary is depicted by three stone crosses. It commands a fine view of Château-Chinon and its slate rooftops with the wooded slopes of the Morvan in the background. At the foot of the hillside, the Yonne valley stretches out to the east, while to the west the view extends beyond Bazois to the Val de Loire.
