Officially described as an additional location of the National Air and Space Museum, this centre occupies 70ha near Dulles International Airport (Virginia). The Smithsonian's latest attraction, this is the new repository for many of the aircraft and spacecraft previously stored at the Paul E. Garber Facility in Maryland. Aircraft on display include the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird, the world's fastest jet-propelled aircraft, the Space Shuttle Discovery and a Concorde.
