Only a few ruins remain of the former Vaux-de-Cernay abbey, founded in the 12C by Cistercian monks from Savigny. The property was purchased in the 19C by the Rothschild family who restored it, creating a neo-Gothic manor house. In 1988, it was sold again and converted into a luxury hotel. Enjoy a stroll through the 65ha-grounds to admire the ornate façade of the former abbey church (late 12C). The remarkable Salle des Moines, used for concerts, is particularly impressive.
