This private estate owned by the monastery is partly covered by a thick forest of pine, eucalyptus and cypress trees. A pleasant shaded path around the island starts from the landing stage. The old monastery, lapped by sea water on three sides, was built in 1073. The current monastery and church date from the 19C. Visitors are allowed to explore the island at will, providing they respect the golden rule of silence!
