The governor of the Netherlands had this palace built between 1756 and 1780 on the site of the former Hôtel de Nassau. The neo-Classical wing from the original building remains on one side of the square. Following renovation, its beautiful rooms will house temporary exhibitions, including The World of Bruegel in Black and White (prints and drawings by Bruegel). The round room decorated with marble flooring, including a rose comprising 28 different marbles, is particularly striking.
