Built in the 13C on the hill of the same name, Spilberk Castle withstood repeated assaults, before finally falling to Napoleon in 1805. Christened "Prison of Nations", it was for many years the most famous jail of the Austrian Empire. After lengthy restoration works, it is now home to the City Museum. As well as seeing the former cells, you will learn about the history of the place.
