The courtyard of this abbey founded in 1142 by Bressanone church houses a well which is decorated with "eight" wonders of the world, one of which is the abbey itself. The rich Bavarian decor of the church interior is striking, as are the frescoes which once decorated the cloister, some of which were restored in the 20C. The magnificent Rococo library is home to 76 000 volumes, including rare books and illustrated manuscripts.
