Built between the 14C and late 17C, this impressive fortress has had many owners over the centuries and has been the location for numerous movies. Bought in 1696 by the Teutonic Knights, it belonged to the Order until 1939. The castle is in remarkable condition, thanks to its renovation from 1895-1910 in romantic neo-Gothic style. Its 58m watchtower announces its presence from afar, drawing curious visitors to the site.
