The museum occupies three fine vaulted cellars (typical of the Chartrons district), and traces the history of the Bordeaux wine trade. Many artefacts and visual aids set the scene, explaining the history of the leading dynasties, wine classification, daily work in the wineries and the port of Bordeaux's key role in the trade.
