From the bastion of the Alter Zoll there is a splendid panoramic view over the whole of Bonn, the Rhine and the surrounding area. The view over the river and the Siebengebirge (the volcanic "Seven Hills" range to the east of the city) is particularly attractive in the late afternoon and early evening.
