Begin your walk at the Pont Battant and admire the lovely façades of the 17C houses. Soak up the atmosphere on Place de la Révolution, then head down the Grande Rue, the city's main thoroughfare. It leads to Cathédrale St Jean, where you can admire the Madonna in Glory with Saints by the Florentine, Fra Bartolomeo (1475-1517) and the remarkable astronomical clock (1858-60). Next, visit to the Préfecture, housed in the erstwhile Palais des Intendants (18C).
