The royal boats were part of the Tagus fleet, transporting the royal family and their guests from the palace to the Casa del Labrador. The museum is home to six boats belonging to Charles IV (painting by Maella), Isabel II, Alfonso XII (teak), Maria-Cristina (paintings imitating tapestries) and Alfonso XIII. Philip IV's boat, a gift from a Venetian count, surpasses the others in terms of the richness of decoration of its sculpted and gilded wood.
