Porticcio is one of the best-known seaside resorts on the south coast and well situated opposite Ajaccio. Beyond Porticcio, the coast has some superb sandy coves (in particular the lovely beach of Mare e Sole) separated by rocky promontories topped with a Genoese tower. Chiavari eucalyptus forest offers a fine view of the gulf. At the village of Coti-Chiavari, pause and enjoy the view of the Pointe de la Casagna and the Sanguinaires islands. Punta Guardiola (1hr return) is a rocky outcrop enclosing the bay.
