The highest mountain pass in Slovenia is in the Julian Alps, near the Italian and Austrian borders. The climb from the small town of Kranjska Gora is impressive. After its 50 bends and the small Russian Chapel, built in honour of the prisoners of war who were killed by an avalanche in 1916, you come to the famous pass. From there, the panoramic view takes in the Mojstrovka Ridge, Prisojnik Mountain and the Soča Valley.
