The river tumbles down 17 natural landings, like flights of stairs, over a distance of 800m and a height of 45.70m. A path forms a loop through woodland and along pontoons over fast-flowing streams and rivers. Near the waterfalls are some immaculately restored traditional stone buildings, including a watermill, a weaving workshop, a forge and a small ethnographic museum. The last set of falls cascades into a natural lake where the waters are calm enough for bathing.
