The lower course of the River Lahn with its twists and bends, dark lakes and wild wooded slopes boasts some fine romantic stretches. The ruins of several castles and the town of Limburg an der Lahn are rich in historical interest and the valley makes an ideal base for a range of leisure activities including walking, cycling, boating and wine tasting.
