Since its closure in 1980, this colliery (the last in the Liège basin) has been kept in working order to show the miners' way of life. The tour is made even more interesting by the fact that the guides are themselves ex-miners. Both of the present shafts were excavated in the 19C, at which time women and children also worked there. Since 2012, it has been a UNESCO World Heritage site.
