Feel like you’re searching for a place that you can’t find? Reverie is indeed hidden—tucked off a quiet, cobblestone alley in Georgetown. Inside, its slate floors, smooth wood, and clean lines speak to a contemporary Nordic vibe. Nab a seat at the chef’s counter and you’ll be privy to the preparation of each dish from start to finish. Like the design, inspiration for its dishes skews North Atlantic. Chef Johnny Spero did time at Noma and from dense loaves of rye served with leek ash-cultured butter to steamed hake with a foamy horseradish sauce, the references are evident. Whole roasted duck for two and the juicy burger are attention worthy too. The frozen, cubed white chocolate with miso brown butter and sunchoke miso is divine among sweet fiends.
