Located steps from Manhattan’s Lincoln Center, this is Daniel Boulud’s ode to the many countries that line the Mediterranean coast, from France’s Côte d’Azur to Morocco, Tunisia, Lebanon and beyond. Packed and lively, the dining room features vaulted ceilings, natural lighting, cozy striped banquettes and a pleasantly humming semi-open kitchen. The menu here is light and punctuated by bright ingredients, including tender little sardines escabeche paired with pickled fennel and cucumber ribbons; or grilled Mediterranean sea bass tucked with confit, fennel, figs and toasted almonds. Save room for such excellent desserts as the house mignardises—a tray filled with delicious delicacies like baklava, caramel-balsamic bonbon and pistachio madeleines.
