In this little winemaking village, Daniela and Alexander Oos have turned a former winegrower's house dating from 1672 into a lovely fine dining restaurant where guests really feel at home. While the chef-patron cooks up Mediterranean-inspired, seasonal, classic cuisine, the proprietress takes charge front of house, winning over diners with her easy Tyrolean charm. The savvily devised and pleasingly unfussy dishes made from premium ingredients are accompanied by a great wine list that is principally devoted to regional labels. Diners take their seats in a glass-walled cube that has an elegant modern interior and commands marvellous views of the famous Trittenheimer Apotheke vineyard on the other side of the Moselle. Outside is a pretty garden right next to a small vineyard. A number of tasteful guestrooms are also up for grabs.
