Done out in the style of a contemporary bistro, laid out beneath an attractive beamed ceiling, this restaurant is housed in an outbuilding of the Château de Saint-Aignan, a pretty medieval village overlooking the River Cher. As for the food, the seasoned Dutch chef serves up a starter of fine mackerel cooked skin on, accompanied by samphire, caviar, dried egg and yuzu; for the main course, a lovely piece of hake with tender pieces of octopus, spinach and a touch of ginger. Terrace nestled at the foot of the château.
