Cielo (“heaven” in Italian) is part of the aptly named La Sommità hotel, which occupies a large house in typical local style at the top of this whitewashed town with its medieval limestone steps known as “chianche”. The perfect setting for a romantic summer dinner, either among the citrus trees in the small inner courtyard or in the dining room crowned with a vaulted ceiling, this restaurant serves regionally inspired cuisine to which the chef adds his own creative twist. Guests choose from a number of different tasting menus (including a vegetarian menu) or from the well-structured à la carte with its choice of meat and fish dishes.
