Nestled within a historic building and adjacent to the courtyard of the Freehand Miami Hotel, this vintage-esque space appears to be all the rage. Large tables dominate the floor plan up front; while an expansive covered courtyard resides in the back, furnished with mismatched metal tables and colorful chairs. Service throughout is casual yet affable.This is eclectic American cooking with Caribbean (including Haitian) influences as well as the odd global inflection. Diners can make a meal out of the starters alone, as in crispy shrimp dumplings or the griot and pikliz, a Haitian classic with pork and spicy pickled slaw. Be sure to save room for dessert, with such creative options as a halva brownie topped with yogurt ice cream and date syrup.
