This longstanding restaurant in idyllic Irvington is a rather special place. Tucked along Main Street and framed by windows, it is bright and welcoming, thanks to mustard-yellow walls, art and photos aplenty, as well as hand-blown glass light fixtures. A small, inlaid-tile bar out front welcomes one and all to dine on a wonderful, flavor-rich carte from Chef/co-owner Navjot Arora. Local, organic produce star in such complex, boldly spiced dishes as bhindi masala (imbued with tangy amchoor) and Punjabi eggplant curry. Chana masala reaches delicious heights when paired with a sweet and nutty Peshawari naan. Chutneys clearly shine here. Case in point—mango and tamarind. They're so luscious, they may as well be jarred and sold.
