This former village café has morphed into a vibrant, friendly eatery that reflects the colourful, tongue-in-cheek personality of its youthful and exuberant chef, Marie Robert. Marie conjures up uninhibited, creative dishes washed down with excellent local wines. At the head of a women-only kitchen brigade, she has a flair for spontaneously showcasing seasonal ingredients. Examples include Red Label Scottish salmon with Aquitaine caviar and pearls of vodka or succulent snails in a butter, garlic and parsley sauce served with pan-fried frog’s legs and a foamy purée of sweet garlic. Her surprise menu is a hit with the locals, which is always a guarantee of quality!
