The restaurant in the basement of the venerable grand hotel Bellevue Palace (Switzerland's official accommodation for foreign dignitaries) used to be Bern's mint – the name is a derivation of "numismatics". The atmosphere is cosmopolitan, chic and relaxed (the resident DJ plays in the evening). In the open kitchen, the chefs prepare "world food" incorporating influences from Asia, Peru and the Mediterranean. The dishes are made with excellent ingredients and are also suitable for sharing. Competent and laid back in their approach, the waitstaff provide recommendations from the selection of fine wines and interesting cocktails.
