By strolling through the kitchen (which has preserved its original stoves), entering the bedrooms (arranged in the mysterious half-light of the attic), where you can admire a red and gold four-poster bed, it's possible to imagine the life of the well-to-do Shen family who built this residence with no fewer than 100 rooms and 7 courtyards.
