A group of nine historic sites flanking the village green comprise an open-air museum. Not far from the church and the Town Hall stand Emerson-Wilcox House (1742), the old cemetery, Jefferds Tavern (1754), and the Virginia Weare Parsons Education Center and Remick Gallery. The old prison (1719) can be seen at the top of the hill, while other buildings of interest include the old school (1745) and the Elizabeth Perkins House (1730), an attractive red-brick house built in colonial style.
