As you approach the Hofburg, Kohlmarkt, the former coal market, is today a pedestrian district, strewn with luxury boutiques. At N°14, Demel tea house, an institution founded in 1785, moved here in 1857. A little further on, on Herrengasse (N°14), Café Central is one of Vienna's most renowned literary cafés.
