This neo-Renaissance building is an academy that trains painters, sculptors and decorators, but it also houses a wonderful museum. It was here that Hitler, who at the time fancied himself as an artist, failed the entry exam. In front of the academy, a statue of Schiller, by Dresden sculptor Johann Schilling, depicts the German playwright in the company of Goethe and surrounded by allegories of the four ages of life.
