Sequoyah Birthplace Museum

Opinião do Guia Michelin
Scholars of the world's languages marvel over the achievement of a Cherokee silversmith named Sequoyah (1776-1843), who single-handedly created an alphabet for his native language and brought literacy to the Cherokee Indian nation. Born in the village of Tuskeegee (now underwater at the Tellico Reservoir near present-day Vonore), Sequoyah was the child of a Virginia fur trader and a Cherokee chieftain's daughter.
