The huge H.R. MacMillan Space Centre features a space station, flight simulator and a host of interactive exhibits and others devoted to space research. The Southam observatory enables visitors to observe the sun, the moon, planets and stars through a giant telescope. The cone-shape McMillan Planetarium, inaugurated in 1968, is one of the town's most iconic landmarks.
