The city Parks and Gardens services tend a string of gardens planted with palm trees which bear witness to the mild (and humid) climate of Vancouver. The locals flock here on sunny afternoons, enjoying the flower-decked gardens and the warm sandy beach. Artists and craftspeople also set up their wares along the walkway to Stanley Park, whenever the weather is fine enough.
