To the left of the central courtyard, via a lane still embellished with alabaster, you come to the royal apartments. The Queen's megaron still has part of its alabaster paving. Next to it is the King's larger megaron, adjoining a lustral bath to the rear. From the nearby staircase there is a bird's-eye view over the megarons, the peristyle hall preceding the royal apartments and central courtyard. From there, you come to the upper courtyard.
