The highlight of this zoo is the Robert J. LaFortune North American Living Museum complex of four primary ecosystems-Arctic tundra, Southwest desert, Eastern forest and Southern lowlands-with animals, plants and cultural displays. The Tropical American Rainforest has jaguars and howler monkeys; at the Elephant Encounter, guests watch large pachyderms at work and play. Researcher Jane Goodall has acclaimed the Chimpanzee Connection. A zoo train circles the park's 70 acres, providing access to its 1,500 animals.
