Founded in 1952, Sonora Desert open-air museum is stunning. A combined zoo and botanical garden, it endeavors to showcase the region's wealth as naturally as possible. A trail leads to different themed areas (mountains, desert grassland, cactus garden, river inhabitants, big cats, etc), protected by an invisible wire, inside of which the animals roam free as if in their natural habitat.
