The experts cannot agree on whether the Huaca El Dragón or Huaca Arco Iris was the work of the Chimú (12C-15C) or the Sicán (8-12C). But this pyramidal adobe temple is especially famous for the geometrical motifs found on its walls, which suggest that the sanctuary was dedicated to worship of the rainbow, a symbol of rain and fertility. Some vestiges od bas-reliefs depicting rows of warriors or two-headed snakes can be seen on its external facing.
