This huge monastic complex was built in the 14C and remodelled in the 18C. The facade of the sanctuary is embellished by a Gothic doorway and a very elaborate rose window. On the left side is the elegant Renaissance Sailors' Chapel, made out of tufa rock, with a cupola. Inside, on the altar, stands a harmonious 14C statue known as the Madonna of Trapani.
