Opened in 2015, this museum is housed in a handsome glass, aluminium and wood building designed by Kuma Kengo. Quite unique in Japan, since 1950 it has showcased glasswork with an emphasis on contemporary creation. The top floor is the site of the stunning "Glass Art Garden", which features colourful work by American artist Dale Chihuly. Historically, Toyama's artistic glasswork and glass research activities grew up in parallel with its pharmaceutical industry.
