From Dong Khe the road runs through stunning landscapes of steep peaks and cliffs dotted with caves as far as That Khe, a village of peppermint-coloured houses. The market here is frequented by Tay, Nung and Dao groups. As you leave the village, you come through a checkerboard of rice fields, an unusual sight in this region of maize crops.
